Age-adjusted GAS pharyngitis clinical score.

Intended population: Patients age 3 years or older with acute sore throat, in the appropriate testing pathway.

The score supports testing decisions; it does not diagnose GAS or justify antibiotics alone.
Airway compromise, deep-neck infection, high-risk exposure, rheumatic-fever history and clear viral features need separate assessment.

Age in completed years (years)

Absence of cough

History of fever above 38°C

Tonsillar swelling or exudate

Tender anterior cervical lymph nodes
