HEART score

Five-component ED chest-pain risk score.

Intended population: Adults evaluated in an ED for possible ACS, after ECG and troponin assessment.

  • Not for STEMI or clinical instability. Do not delay urgent care to calculate a score.
  • HEART alone is not the HEART Pathway and does not rule out ACS or determine discharge. Apply an assay-specific validated pathway.

Adult ED chest-pain demonstration. Do not use for STEMI or to delay care for instability. HEART alone does not rule out ACS or determine discharge; use the full clinical assessment and an assay-specific validated pathway.
