Neurology

ABCD² after suspected TIA

Historical early-stroke risk score after a clinician-assessed transient ischemic attack.

Intended population: Adults after suspected TIA with completely resolved focal symptoms. Ongoing deficits require an acute stroke pathway.

  • Every suspected TIA requires urgent assessment regardless of ABCD². Do not use it alone to decide discharge, defer imaging, or rule out a stroke mechanism.
  • Weakness and isolated speech disturbance are mutually exclusive scoring alternatives.
